Osaka happens to be in the middle of some of the most popular travel locations in Japan! From Osaka, you can take an hour train ride to famous locations such as Kyoto, Nara, and Kobe. Kyoto, stock full of beautifil and ancient shrines, like the Mizu-dera shrine, is the perfect day trip. Nara is home to the oldest temple made solely of wood in the world, beautifully situated in the center of a public park full of friendly deer. To the west of Osaka lies Kobe, so abtly named like its famous dish, Kobe beef, the most expensive beef in Japan. So if you feel like you've traveled all that Osaka has to offer, simply take the train a few miles away to explore more!

KYOTO

Next door to Osaka lies Kyoto, the city that is home of Japan's tradition. Over the years, Kyoto has gained somewhat of a reputation by appreciating and maintaining some of Japan's oldest traditions. Some businesses in Kyoto are over thirteen generations into their craft. Not only does the blood run deep, but popular historic sites such as Kiyomizudera and Nijo Castle stand proud after being carefully maintained to withstand the power of time. If you wish to have some tradition after the neon lights of Osaka, Kyoto is the place for you.

KOBE

Kobe, once the capital of Japan, now a stunning port city of lights and relic of the past. Kobe was one of the port cities open for trade with the world back when many opposed of the idea. A business superpower used for its ports and modern facilities. The area has history stacking up to that of Kyoto, witnessing many things from the founding of the sacred Ikuto Shrine by the old Empress Jingu in 201 AD to wars between prefectures during the Heian periods. Aside from history, if you are passionate about rare meats and high cuisine, then don't miss out on Kobe beef! It is the most expensive beef in Japan and some say they can't forget the taste once they've had it. You could also visit the most famous hot springs of Japan, Arima Onsen, if you need a quiet moment to yourself after your travels.

NARA

Considered a cradle to Japan's civilization, Nara has been around for thousands of years.Besides rich history, you can witness some of its relics by visiting Todai-ji, the oldest standing wooden structure in the world. The amound of sacred sites number many if this is something that is of your interest. Some even set you on the right track to take a pilgrimage if you so desire. The arts are also especially abundant in Nara! Instruments are made here of the highest quality, as well as various caalligraphy and tea ceremony items such as brushes and whisks. If you would like to experience a taste of tradition after the modern party of Osaka, Nara is the place to go
